Consortium for Climate Change Ethiopia Launches Child Rights and Climate Awareness Initiative

The Consortium for Climate Change Ethiopia (CCC-E), with financial support from Save the Children International, successfully conducted the project kick-off meeting for the Civil Society Strengthening Programme for Children’s Rights, followed by a national awareness-raising workshop on the UNCRC General Comment No. 26.

The kick-off meeting marked the beginning of a collaborative effort aimed at strengthening child rights-focused civil society engagement in Ethiopia. The subsequent awareness workshop brought together civil society organizations (CSOs) to enhance understanding of children’s rights in relation to climate change and environmental protection.

Through interactive discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaborative learning, participants upheld their commitment to integrating children’s rights into climate action and development initiatives at both local and national levels.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to building a more just, inclusive, and climate-resilient future for children and communities across Ethiopia.
